Coupling two stationary meshes

Post by James McNaughton »

I am trying to couple two instances of Saturne for flow past a stationary object. I have an outer and inner cylindrical mesh with the inner having a cylindrical body and flow is measured at a Reynolds number of 200. I am running on a low time-step and the CFL number is well below one. The flow is laminar. A steady solution is obtained after approx 20,000 time-steps but the solution is not correct. There appears to be an error in the pressure contours yet the velocity appears to flow through the two instances so I don't think that I have an issue with defining the coupling faces.

I have tried the same calculation using the (one instance) standard case set-up of Saturne and pasting the meshes. The solution is unsteady. The unsteady solution is confirmed by other software. I have attached screen-shots of the pressure and velocity contours for the two instance case. I have been careful that the scaling on both meshes is equal in the post processing.

Any help or advice would be appreciated.

Thanks,

James
