Numerical Modelling of Two-Phase Turbulence in the Multi-Regime Model of neptune_cfd

September 30, 2026

Are you passionate about fluid mechanics, multiphase flows, and turbulence? Join EDF’s R&D team in Chatou and contribute to the development of neptune_cfd, the code_saturne solver dedicated to the CFD simulation of complex multiphase flows. 🎯 Objective: develop a physical modelling approach to ensure a consistent transition between turbulence models when the multiphase flow regime changes, particularly between large-interface flows and dispersed bubbly flows. The internship will involve becoming familiar with neptune_cfd’s GLIM multi-regime models and RANS turbulence models, identifying a test case that highlights the limitations of the current models, and then developing and validating a correction to the two-phase turbulence model using several reference test cases. 🧑‍💻 Profile sought: Final-year Master’s or engineering student looking for a graduation internship, with skills in fluid mechanics, multiphase flow modelling, and RANS turbulence modelling. Knowledge of CFD, C or C++ programming, and proficiency in a Unix environment are desirable. Autonomy, rigour, strong physical insight, and the ability to work as part of a team are essential. 📍 Location: Chatou, France 🔗 Full job description and application: https://www.edf.fr/edf-recrute/offre/detail/2026-183198
