Final-Year Internship – Development of CDO Methods for LES Simulation in code_saturne

October 1, 2026

Are you passionate about numerical simulation, fluid mechanics, and scientific computing? Join the EDF R&D team in Chatou and contribute to the development of advanced numerical methods in code_saturne, our open-source CFD software. 🎯 Objective: prepare the integration of Large Eddy Simulation (LES) into the numerical core based on face-based CDO schemes. The internship will focus in particular on: studying and implementing an additional term in the discretization of the incompressible turbulent Navier-Stokes equations; analyzing the dissipative and dispersive effects of time integration schemes and convection term discretization; validating the developments on several numerical test cases. πŸ§‘β€πŸ’» Profile sought: Final-year Master's or Engineering student (equivalent to MSc level), with skills in applied mathematics, numerical analysis, scientific computing, and fluid mechanics. Knowledge of turbulence modeling, as well as C++, MPI, and Python programming in a Linux environment, would be appreciated. Autonomy, rigor, and teamwork are essential. πŸ“ Location: Chatou, France πŸ”— To view the full offer and apply: https://www.edf.fr/edf-recrute/offre/detail/2026-183196
